Bringing value to society

In addition to offering employment, training, skills transfer, and fostering economic growth, VAT is deeply committed to making significant and lasting contributions to the communities in which it operates, as well as to society at large.

As part of its VATcares program, the company prioritizes initiatives that aim to enhance STEM education and provide essential humanitarian aid on a global scale. Through these targeted efforts, VAT seeks to empower individuals, foster sustainable development and create positive societal impacts that extend beyond its business operations.

Promoting diversity and inclusion

Diversity for VAT means to foster a diverse workforce that brings together the best of multiple generations, cultures, genders, skillsets and perspectives. By actively seeking out and nurturing diversity in the hiring pipeline, we tap into diverse talent and perspectives thereby providing a competitive edge. VAT is also committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where all employees have equal opportunities for advancement so they can grow and realize their potential.

In 2023 eleVATe Equity started as a grassroot movement to promote gender equity in the company and is now directly supported by our CEO. It provides a platform to network, inspire and support each other.

Prioritizing health, safety, and wellbeing

VAT takes care of the health, wellbeing, and safety of its employees and aims to provide a positive and supportive working environment to support all aspects of good health. Our ambition is that all VAT-employees are safe and well at work, safeguarding them from accidents, injuries, and work-related illnesses.

We foster worker participation and consultation in the development, implementation, and evaluation of our occupational health and safety management system.

Protecting human rights

VAT is committed to respecting and promoting the dignity and human rights of all people, as expressed in the International Bill of Human Rights. We adhere to international frameworks to identify human rights risks and potential impacts as well as to implement appropriate measures to mitigate adverse impacts. By identifying, preventing, and if necessary, ceasing cases of transgression of human rights (i.e., child labor, forced labor, human trafficking etc.), VAT aims at ensuring that zero human rights violations occur across all its organization.

In 2024, VAT joined the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) as an affiliate member. Since 2018, VAT has applied the RBA Code of Conduct, and now, as an RBA Affiliate Member, we are taking an even stronger position. This means that we continue to make sure our workplace is a safe and healthy environment, respecting human and labor rights, eliminating conflict minerals from our products and making our operations more environmentally friendly. It also means that we are actively monitoring our suppliers’ compliance with these standards.
