The Values Of VAT

We accept our responsibility towards our employees, our business partners, the environment and not at last to society as a whole. We feel committed to sustainability, global standards for ethics, environment, health and safety.

With the help of a process management system, we organize, manage and document the process-relevant activities in our company. This includes the measurement and evaluation of process outcomes and the associated comparison with our peers. The continuous improvement and optimization of our business processes is a matter of course. Our company is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified and undergoes other external assessments on a regular basis.

As an Affiliate Member of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), VAT fully supports the vision and goals of the RBA:

Vision
A coalition of companies driving sustainable value for workers, the environment and business throughout the global supply chain.

Mission
Members, suppliers and stakeholders collaborate to improve working and environmental conditions and business performance through leading standards and practices.

VAT commits to progressively align its own operations with the provisions of the RBA Code of Conduct and to support and encourage its own first-tier suppliers to do the same.

The standards set out in the Code of Conduct reference international norms and standards including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, ILO International Labor Standards, OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, ISO and SA standards, and many more.

Our commitment to climate action

VAT has pledged to setting near-term greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets according to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This marks an important step in our journey to address climate change, reflecting our dedication to aligning our emissions reduction goals with the latest climate science. VAT’s commitment has been approved by SBTi in early December 2024.

SBTi framework

By committing to the SBTi, VAT joins a global movement of companies working to reduce their emissions in line with the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C. The SBTi is a collaboration between the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact, the We Mean Business Coalition, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). It provides companies with a framework to establish science-based reduction targets and to drive meaningful climate action.

This important step is part of VAT’s broader sustainability strategy, which focuses on improving resource efficiency, driving innovation and creating long-term value. Learn more about our sustainability initiatives and progress in our latest Sustainability Report.
